Pancakes with Bacon Bits

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk, cream or milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 100g (3.5oz) HORMEL® Real Bacon Bits, Pieces or Crumble
  • 1.In bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
  • 2.In separate bowl, mix together buttermilk, egg, oil and vanilla.
  • 3.Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir just until combined.
  • 4.Heat skillet on medium heat.
  • 5.Pour 3/4 cup of batter onto hot skillet. Immediately sprinkle HORMEL® Real Bacon Bits, Pieces or Crumble over pancake.
  • 6.Cook 2 minutes or until golden brown. Turn; cook 1 minute or until golden.
  • 7.Repeat steps 5 and 6 until all batter is used.

CAMPING TIP: Make batter ahead of time and store in a pourable container or sealed storage bag. Hold off adding HORMEL® Real Crumbled Bacon until cooking pancakes at your campsite.
